What is Shore strength?

Simply put, the higher the number, the stiffer the hoop or lyre.

The stiffer the less potential isolation you'll get from handling noise, although for most camera operators it's quite minimal and not a huge factor.

We sell a standard 82D because most camera operators are running large long mics with big wind jammers. So the hoops and lyre need to be stiffer to reduce sag.

You can mix and match different hoops on the back and front based on your needs.

    • Hoops only (mic holder clips sold separately).
    • Hoops have 3mm spine / bracing on top for use with longer or front-heavy mics.
    • Comes with 4 mounting screws - 2 x 8mm long (for base) and 2 x 12mm long (for tops)

    Suitable for heavier/longer microphones like the Sennheiser MKH 416, MKH60 & Schoeps CMIT 5U.
