The Rycote Duo is the strongest overall option, designed for larger microphones and heavy wind protection. It is particularly well suited to microphones such as the Sennheiser MKH 416 with a large windjammer, while being less suited to smaller microphones such as the Sanken CS-M1.

Details on Rycote Duo

Duos are designed for microphones with added slip-on wind protection, such as Super-Softie®, or microphones with bulbous heads and front-heavy designs that require additional stability.

They can also be used with heavier microphones in the same way as 82 Shore Single Lyres, where additional support is required.

Recommended Microphone Compatibility

The Rycote Duo supports nearly every microphone on the market, including Sennheiser MKH 416, MKH50, Deity S-Mic 2S, and RØDE VideoMic Pro NTG, with many more microphones supported within the 19–34 mm diameter range, but works slightly better with shorter shotgun mics, not super short mics like the CS-M1.
