Mic Compatibility

The Radius RAD-2 is designed to support some of the largest microphones in the business while remaining compatible with smaller microphones such as the Sanken CS-M1. Its thicker hoops and additional 3 mm of top bracing provide extra support for front-heavy microphones.

Why Radius RAD-2?

Maximum microphone support — designed for some of the largest microphones, including front-heavy shotgun microphones.
Extra bracing — RAD-2 hoops are slightly thicker than RAD-1 hoops and have an additional 3 mm of bracing on top.
Excellent shock absorption — helps reduce handling noise.
Broad compatibility — works with large microphones while also supporting smaller microphones such as the CS-M1.
Highest profile — the RAD-2 has the highest overall profile compared to the RAD Mini and Rycote Duo.

The RAD-2 can also be used with super-cardioid, cardioid, and omni condenser microphones when using a slide-on Radius Nimbus Windshield or other front-mounted deadcat fur.

UNC 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 tapped threads.
Quick-release thumb screws for fast removal from the camera.
Can also be used as a universal mic holder on a mini tripod or boom arm.
The threaded holes are not designed to hold accessories while attached to your camera.
